Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick | 111 Kiss of Life

Well surprise surprise, I've bought a new lipstick. If there's one thing you should know, its that I love a good lipstick. With the festive season rapidly approaching, I decided to take it upon myself to purchase a new red lippy, and after eyeing up the Rimmel Kate Moss collection for a rather vast amount of time, I decided it was time to give in to my inner makeup desires and purchase shade 111, Kiss of Life. Obviously, making a new purchase means writing a new blog post, which I am more than excited to be able to do for you guys.

The red packaging of the lipstick indicates it is a part of the Matte Kate Moss lipstick collection, and it just so happens to be my first (but certainly not my last) from the range. The lipstick has a rich and creamy texture, and gives a very opaque finish on the lips. I would describe the colour as a 'true red', and it is perfect for the Autumn/Winter season.

A huge bonus to this product is the taste/smell. It smells and tastes very very similar to parma violets. I'm not too sure if they have these in other countries aside from the UK, but they are basically little purple sweeties (candy) that taste really good. Fabulous description, I know, I know. Anyway, to me, when a product smells good, I instantly seem to like it more. I'm very particular about smells, possibly because I have a very high sense of smell, and would prefer not to be smelling something nasty on my face all day.

The lipstick is really long lasting, but I still like to top up a few times throughout the day to keep it opaque and bold. I use lip balm under all of my lipsticks, just for added moisture. However, I definitely think that despite being of a matte finish, you could get away with wearing this without a lip balm underneath. It also looks super pretty with a lip gloss over the top, if you prefer a glossier look.

Another great thing about this lippy is the fantastic colour pay-off. Literally one stroke across the top and bottom lip amd you're done. No fussing, no mess. However, if you prefer to go for a slightly less 'full on' look, you could apply it with a lip brush; helping you achieve a pretty rosy glow on the lips. Also, a thick layer of lip balm underneath will tone it down a little, as well as giving the lips a slight shine.

Overall, I really recommend this product. I understand that the Kate Moss lipsticks are raved about rather often within the beauty community, and now I totally see why. I am completely oblivious as to why it has taken me so long to try this range out. The pigmentation of this lipstick is comparable to that of the MAC lipsticks, and for all you MAC lipstick lovers like me, you will understand how big of a statement that is. Retailing at a mere £5.49, the Kate Moss lipsticks are amazing value for money, and I highly recommend them. Its safe to say I will be purchasing a few more of these over the coming weeks... What are your favourite shades in the collection?

Thanks for reading!
