Nivea Daily Essentials Light Moisturising Day Cream | Review

It's unnegotionable really that moisturiser is a very important step in everyones skin regime. Well, I know it certainly is is mine anyway. We all know that commonly believed theory that those of us with oily skin don't need to moisturise, which is not true at all. Although, I put my hands up and admit that I was once a strong follower of this theory, and believed for so long that since my skin was oily, I shouldn't use moisturiser. As I matured within the areas of skincare and beauty, it soon came to my realisation that oily skin needs to be moisturised just like any other skin type. In fact, not moisturising your skin can create more oil, as your skin creates it own 'moisture' (oil) due to the deprivation of moisturiser. About a year ago, my skin was rather oily and greasy, which made me realise that I needed to switch up my skincare in some way to elliminate the oil. It was then I began to moisturise my skin. Wthin weeks I noticed a vast decrease of oil on my skin, which I was so happy to see. *In no way at all am I saying moisturiser will definitely transform your skin, it just seems to have worked for me. Everybody's skin is different, so it may work for some and not for others, thats just how life goes I'm afraid* At first I used the Nivea Soft Moisturiser, before moving on to use the Nivea Daily Essentials Light Moisturising Day Cream. A mouthful of a name, I know. I am now on my third tube of this holy potion, and am planning to buy many more following this one. So, after a rather babbly and irrelevant introduction, on with the review.

Packaging

The tube itself is white, and the lid a pale blue. All the detailing of the bottle is different shades of blue, which overall gives a really fresh and clean look to the product. The tube has a nice feel to it, and has a sort of matte finish to it. I really like the packaging of the moisturiser, which isn't really too much of a dependant factore, but its always nice to have a pretty looking product.

Texture & Scent

Like most people, I enjoy using products much more when they have a pleasant scent, as lets face it, nobody wants to have a face that smells like poop do they? I am glad to say this moisturiser smells lovely. However, it isn't highly perfumed at all, it just has a really nice, fresh smell to it.

As you would expect a moisturiser to be, it is extremely soft and creamy; dispensing from the tube in a manner that allows you total control over the amount you squeeze out. It is a pure white colour, and is of a moderate thickness.

How does it feel on the skin?

One thing I adore about this moisturiser is its ability to rapidly absorb into the skin. It doesn't leave your skin greasy or dewy looking, just super super soft. It gives the skin a really healthy glow, and makes you look really radiant. It also makes you feel really clean and fresh.

When do I use it?

Despite the packaging clearly stating this is a 'day cream', I use it both in the morning and at night. I believe there is a night cream available to buy if you would rather have a separate one for morning and night. I haven't tried the night cream, but I imagine the only difference is that it is most likely heavier and thicker on the skin, and possibly more moisturising.

In the morning, I apply it right before I apply my makeup, following my skin care routine. At night, I apply it right before I get into bed, following my night time skin regime.

Overall opinion

In case you haven't already gathered from the rather positive review I have written, I love this moisturiser. I would honestly recommend this to anybody and everybody. It has done my skin wonders and I urge you to give it a go too.

Thank you for reading, speak soon!
