Sticking with the typical Halloween tradition, I obviously kicked of my Halloween celebrations with a good ol' pumpkin carving session. My brother and I carved a pumpkin each, and I must say - it was good fun. I always look foward to pumpkin carving, and each year, - being the creative soul that I am- I spend a great deal of time pondering over how my little pumpkin friend shall be made to look. Scary, cute, humorous - the ideas are endless. Last year, I recall my pumpkin having eyelashes and a pink hair bow... Well, lets be real - you wouldn't expect anything less from a beauty blogger, would you?! Here are some photos from this years pumpkin carving fun.
How they all start off...
Being the beauty enthusiast that I am, it was obviously completely essential to ensure my nails fit accordingly with the spooky celebrations. So out came the black and orange nail polish, and on to my nails they went. I used my beloved Essie Fear & Desire nail polish, along with one of my mother's Chanel polishes, in the shade Black Satin.
As for my costume, I decided to dress up as a Dead Fairy... it sounds spookier than it really is! I paired a black tutu with some ripped tights, a pair of black wings, black boots and a spooky necklace. I then backcombed my hair as much as possible, which was quite the challenge after using a deep conditoning treatment on my hair this morning... smart move. It was then time for makeup... the best part, in my opinion. I created a black smokey eye look, and paired it with a dark, vampy lipstick. I then filled in my eyebrows with a black eyeshadow, and dusted my face with a white iridescent eyeshadow. The iridescence gives the effect of a 'once glittery fairy, now spooky dead thing' type of look... if you get where I'm coming from! The outfit as a whole looked pretty good, if I must say so myself. Here's a snap of the completed look.
All in all, I would like to wish you all a fantastic and spookalicious (is that even a word?) Halloween. Hopefully lots of treats and not so many tricks will come your way! I hope you enjoyed this little insight into my Halloween fun this year, and may your Halloween celebrations and activities be fun-filled and memorable. Happy Halloweeeeeeeeen!
